1. (copied from week 8)
As a matter of fact, I just had an hour and thirty minute meeting today with my two mentors about the process of my final project. We talked about how I will present what I have done during my internship, the mediums I can use to present, a general timeline of the final steps of my project, and a critique of my project. From this meeting, I now have a better Idea of what my target audience will be for this issue, and how I can establish this newsletter to continue throughout the process with the proceeding interns.

My final project will be as follows:
A monthly newsletter that will be distributed to the members that attend the Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco Mission Charter Community Meetings that discuss the development of the building. The goal of this series of newsletters will be to inform the community of the building process so that they are aware of the changes in their neighborhood. The issue which I will present will target the members in my office who are unfamiliar with the progress of the site. Although it will be lacking in content, it can be used as a template for the future newsletters that will be issued as the building process expands.

I will present my final project at TEF Talk on December 5th using a powerpoint presentation to describe the project and its purpose, a pin-up of all my previous drafts to show the progress and development of the final newsletter, along with a short flash animation of a walk through of the future site using Google Sketch-Up (the best program ever!). We discussed the possibility of giving handouts to the audience as reference during the presentation, but we all agreed that it would distract the viewer from my showing. I think I will present this to the CAT community in a similar way (just without the free food).

Benchmarks
-Complete Final Template for newsletter
-Familiarize self with animation through Google Sketch-Up
-Create walk through demonstration of future site
-Compile previous drafts of newsletter and other projects completed while at site
-Gather information and create powerpoint
-PRESENT!

But due to time restrictions and lack of materials, my project has been modified so that I will no longer be creating a flash annimation. Instead, I will correct a rendering of the google sketch-up so that it is up to date with the current drawings.

2. My next 3 weeks will be as follows:
Today:Finish newsletter (morning)
Edit Sketch-Up (Afternoon)
11/5: Create Powerpoint for presentation (morning)
Present to TEF staff & CAT teachers (afternoon)
11/12: Create manual for next intern to use to develope series of newsletters for project (all day)

3. Timesheet
9/26: 8:15-5:15 (9 hours)
10/3: 8:15-5:00 (8 hours, 45 min)
10/10: 8:20-5:20 (9 hours)
10/17: 8:30-5:30 (9 hours)
10/24: 8:15-4:45 (8 hours, 30 min)
11/7: 8:30-5:30 (9 hours)
11/14: 8:30-5:30 (9 hours)
11/28: 8:30-5:30 (9 hours)

Total Hours: 71 hours, 15 min

How many do we need??

Copy of the 8th benchmark:
To tell you the truth my mentor had this idea for my project and told me to look something up but then I think we both kind of forgot about it because there is so much to do at the ARC. It is quite hectic to juggle a bunch of tasks and simultaneously try to juggle a project. But if this project has fallen out and I am to present to the lower division I guess I could try to excite people to go join the zoo by taking pictures of the different areas people work in and give a brief overview of what you do there and what my experience was at that specific work area or task I had to do.
To present my final project I am thinking of either taking a bunch of pictures and doing a slideshow or power point of it, despite as lame as it sounds I think it is simple and clean and it will get the job done. But if I take a bunch of pictures maybe I can make something interactive with buttons much like the first project we did with Regina.
I hate benchmarks because they are annoying! >:| But my first “hurdle” will be to take pictures by next Wednesday. Then throughout the course after the pictures are taken I will begin to work on the power point or interactive flash thingy up until the due date.

Due Dates of Benchmarks:
December the 5th: Take pictures of zoo or video tape myself handling armadillos or remind my mentor and do what my mentor was asking.
December the 5th to the 12th: Do the electronic parts of the project. Will do a power point with pictures or flash animate the pictures so that it is interactive. But the tape I may just play the tape and take questions.

Week by week! Man I didn’t get my sheet in because my mentor did not sign off most of it because he is quite busy! But if I remember it should look something like this:

9/26: 9:00-4:30
10/3: 8:47-4:15
10/10: 9:10-4:35
10/17: 9:00-4:40
10/24: 9:00-4:27
11/7: 9:00-4:00
11/14: 9:00-4:45
11/28: 9:00-4:35

1. For my final project I hope to actually cut someones hair like one of my friends and then style it. Along with this I will show my process and maybe create a website for my mentor. Since he is moving to the east bay it will help him to get new clients.

2.I hope to present my project to the cat community by making a video of this process I guess. Then I can present the website by projecting it and showing the links, pictures, and portfolio.

3. The benchmarks I will fallow to meet these projects goals is:
1. Practice all styles and cuts as much as I can.
2. Take pictures of diffrent cuts and styles my mentor does on customers.
3. Start to create website with the pictures and info I have avilable.
4. Find a friend who is willing to have me cut their hair and style it.
5.Then cut their hair and tape the process.

2. 9/26:
10/3: 10:00am-5:00pm
10/10: 10:00am-5:00pm
10/17: 10:00am-5:00pm
10/24: 10:00am-5:00pm
11/7: 10:00am-5:00pm
11/14: 10:00am-5:00pm
11/28: 10:00am-5:00pm

1&2) My project is kind of a branch of Jasmine’s project. It is a pamphlet for the Office to get more interns. So I have to talk about what to expect and what to do, also how to dress and everything. It is more of something to look at before you actually sign up for an internship.

Beachmarks:
• Rough draft of front cover and back cover of pamphlet. 12/02
• Look over front and back cover with mentor revise and work on inside. 12/05
• Gather more info for inside of pamphlet. 12/05
• Work on inside of pamphlet and go over the pamphlet. 12/12

3) Timesheet is with my mentor but I will get it back and post it for next week.

Basically fo rmy project I will be helping out Irirs sign new artist to their label. What I have to do is go on sonic bids and look up the artist that they have in waiting to get signed and rate look through them to see if they have the criterea that Iris is looking for then I will post all the info that I find on the wiki and have for them to look at. This will help them make their desicions sooner. It wont take more than one day to actually gor thsough all of the artist that they have so I should be done by now but I'm not sure. If it is it should be up in the wiki for all the Iris members to look at.

I kind of lost my timsheet so I cant post the hours that I have but I think I can find it and bring it to you as soon as I can.

1.As my finale project I will do a manual for the realtor office so that they can give it to other interns and so the next interns won’t hopefully have to find out everything by them-self because I will describe how to use the programs I had to use for example.
I am not yet sure how to present my final project to the CAT community but probably I will create a PowerPoint presentation about what I did in the realtor office. For the presentation I will probably be able to copy parts from the manual because there I will describe how to do all the stuff I did.
2. Yesterday I started at my WLE the manual. For this I looked in the older blogs and on the time sheet what I did during the time.
12/5: First I will probably do some other stuff which is hopefully different so that I will have more to write about in my manual because I didn’t do so many different stuff and so my manual would be probably a little bit short. Then I will work more on the manual and perhaps I will have time there to start with the PowerPoint presentation.
12/12: After doing again some other stuff I will then add the last information to my manual and look if there are some parts which I can improve. Then I will start or finish my PowerPoint presentation which I want to present the CAT community.
3.
10/3/07 9h 30 min
10/10/07 8h 30 min
10/17/07 8h 30 min
10/24/07 8h
10/31/07 8h
11/7/07 8h 30 min
11/14/07 8h 30 min
11/28/07 7h
Total: 66h 30 min

For future interns and customer usage. To make things easier.

-single out the make/model specific things
-(rough draft)type out the general things
-format
-check with mr. Sokol
