1. Out of the classwork/homework assignments that we did, I felt the most accomplished when I had read and dissected one of those passages from the books on philosophy. It's a rush to actually thoroughly understand something that was just a jumble of 'thou's to me at first. I'm not a big fan of the 'talking to the text' method of dissecting a paper, but it was almost completely necessary for some of that stuff (with information density like a brick). The discussions that we had surrounding these readings were very satisfying too, it really helped solidify the concepts for me.
2. The one assignment that gave me the most frustration this semester was the research paper..mainly because I think I misunderstood the bulk of what the assignment was supposed to be backed up by. I have the feeling that I used a little bit too much in the way of money evidence when good ol' human evidence would have done, and I (originally) only used Marx as my philosophical evidence... But MAN did that paper stress me out. But I think I wrapped it up on a good note today, so I guess I feel pretty well-accomplished with it ultimately.
3. This is pretty much the story of my high school career thus far, I'll set a high bar for myself to meet, and it'll be great for a while, all of my work will be in (or atleast most of it)...and then it fizzles, and very little gets done...and a desperate struggle at the end gets me just above the bar that would have me repeating the class. I don't think it was much different from the norm this semester, I started out strong, and then I didn't do so hot in the second quarter. However, I do feel that in my final products and projects were of a fairly high quality. This was more out of a desire to get the job done correctly and well than a mad scramble at the end to get my geese in a row at the last minute (though there were some elements of that, I feel it was mostly my determination to finish strongly).
4. Recently, especially with the debate project coming through the tube, I've heard a lot about the American dollar losing value, and a lot about the world economy, import/export, and countries interacting with one another in this way. Though I sort of have an idea of what these things might mean in the abstract, I'm really curious to actually see the paperwork that explains this stuff, because I know, all these countries are trading with one another, but I don't know how we see this interaction and all these 'tangible results' that debate teams were talking about.
